IIWFF RULES FOR THE FILM SUBMISSION

Selection

The Festival Director is responsible for inviting the films of the Official Program (in Competition, Out of Competition, World Cinema, International Focus, Indian Panorama, Focus Film Institute, Children Film, ). There are separate conditions governing the selection of films for the all the above mentioned sections. The Festival Director receives the advice of foreign and Indian consultants

Eligibility of Films

Except in special circumstances, films are only eligible for selection and invitation in Competition if they observe the following conditions:

a.) Films must have been produced in the 30 months preceding the Festival

b.) Films must not have contained excess of violence, sex & religious fundamentalism.

c.) Films produced for television can only be considered if a theatrical release is also planned.

d.) Indian films raised controversy at any level (censorship ) will not be given entry to any of the film section& censorship   certificate must be produced before submission.

e.) Should not take part in any other film festival in India before ours festival once it is taken for the Competition

Feature / Short / Documentary Films

Films made in 16mm, 35mm or 70mm & on special cases if any of the format is not available beta, DVD may participate. If any producer / director wishes to make Indian Premier or World Premier of their films will be accepted

Version and Subtitles

All films must be screened in their original version, with English subtitles. All films including co - productions must be submitted along with the English Subtitles. The version released in the country of origin is regarded as the original version of the film.

Film Prints, Videocassettes and DVDs

The deadline for entries as well as sending the films must be strictly observed. Videocassettes or DVDs of all films can only be accepted for selection in Competition under exceptional circumstances for more details on Deadline please feel free to ask on director_iiwff06@yahoo.com

Documentation

For each film selected the Festival must receive detailed documentation immediately, including: a synopsis of the film, the original text of dialogues or commentary together with a list of the English subtitles, a biography and complete filmography of the director and of the leading actors, a selection of stills from the film, a recent photograph of the director, and a full list of artistic and technical credits. Apart from this one full length posters, if possible, should be attached with the screener.
