Preparing for Ph.D from foreign University on this subject: Film, Advertisements, Television : Consumerism , Bazaar & the Subjectivity of Women.

Born in Kolkata Shyamali Banerjee Deb got inclined to cinema due to her creative instinct to explore film as a visual text . For her film is not just a media to be entertained in the world of fantasy , rather to provoke intellectual debate on what it poses to be a transparent reality.

Invited as official Delegate for the Film Festival namely Berlin International Film Festival, International Documentary Film Festival , Amsterdam , Rotterdom International Film Festival, Viena International Film Festival and many more other International Film Festivals .

Worked as a Member of the Jury for 53rd National Film Award , Govt. of India and Berlin Asia Pacific Film Festival , Panel Speaker for Cyprus International Film Festival 06.

Working as a Honorary Festival Director , India International Women Film Festival and Director of Kolkata Film and Media Studies.

Does Write regularly for different newspapers as a Film Critic.
